Hi there,

I have written a number of posts on gay marriage, but I haven't posted an in-depth analysis of the issues that should be considered by a gay couple before they walk down the aisle. 

My colleague, Lisa Cukier interviewed me for an article in Boston Spirit magazine which does provide more detail than the posts have.

Great article/interview. I was interested in the last question, about whether a short term marriage would be considered long term instead based on the length of the relationship. How do you think Charron v. Amaral applies? It seems to me that this case, which said marriage rights and benefits are not retroactive prior to the Goodridge decision, gives a clear direction on the answer the short term/long term. What do you think?
